.ca - the Canadian Domain
.CA Domain Names
- To be eligible to register a .ca domain name, you must be a registered Canadian business or organization, a Canadian trademark holder, a citizen of Canada, have permanent residency in Canada, or otherwise qualify under the Canadian Presence Requirements. If you or your company does not meet the Canadian Presence Requirements established by the registry, you risk suspension and loss of your .ca domain name registration and associated registration fee(s).
- Use only letters, numbers, or hyphen ("-")
- Cannot begin or end with a hyphen
- Length. Domain names must be not less than two (2) and not greater than fifty (50)
characters long.
- Please Note: You must set up an account with the .ca registry (CIRA) within 7 days of registering a .ca domain name. Failure to do so will result in the .ca domain name being deleted! and the loss of the associated .ca domain name registration fee(s). You will receive an email from CIRA with information on how to set up the account. You will also be required to login to their CIRA account to approve any critical changes related to your .ca domain name (e.g., address change, transfer, etc.)
